SUPPORTING OUR CHILDREN’S FITNESS IN HARWICH

HARWICH, Mass., Jan. 3, 2006 - - Fit ‘n Run, the Cape’s premier 30-minute circuit and fitness center for women is extending its program of KidFIT classes to children of all ages. By offering a variety of fitness classes and schedules designed for busy families, Fit ‘n Run rings in the New Year with its continued commitment to empowering women – and their children – to achieve their personal fitness goals and make healthy choices in 2006.

From Itsy Bitsy Yoga® to TeenFIT, the KidFIT classes and sessions are intended to get children moving in a non-competitive, fun environment. Certified instructors teach age-appropriate classes that not only benefit a child’s physical development but also educate children on the importance of being healthy at every age.

Itsy Bitsy Yoga® with Caroline McCutcheon is for non-mobile babies to take with a parent to help babies develop better eating and sleeping patterns and strengthen their immune system. Yoga Kids (ages 6-10) with Courtney Poignand stretches kids’ bodies and minds and boosts their confidence in a fun-filled, engaging and imaginative way.

GymKids (ages 2 and up) with Miss Lori Evans and Christine Jackman is creative movement for children. It works on the physical, cognitive, social, emotional and artistic progress of children through self-control and manipulation of muscles to control their bodies.

PreTeenFIT (5th and 6th graders) and TeenFIT (Jr. High School) with Kathie Gulotta makes exercise fun with a combination of weights, steps, balls, and even some circuit training.

“We are ready to support the health and fitness of our children on the Cape,” said Karen Niski Ready, Fit ‘n Run founder. “By introducing them to fun ways to get fit, we hope our children and their parents will make exercise part of their daily routine and a habit for life – for their continued health and well being.”

Make a New Year’s resolution that will pay off for years to come. A complete calendar of January KidFIT classes and pricing options is available at Fit ‘n Run. Prices range from $15 for a single class to 4- and 6-week session packages for $40-$65 depending on the class. Monthly class schedules are based on attendance and subject to change.
